Benchmarking allows organisations to track their own performance over time and if desired with comparable others. It is a common approach to sharpen leader’s engagement in WHS matters and check WHSMS are effective. Done poorly it wastes resources and may even provide false reassurance. A critical and essential step in managing psychological health and safety risks is collecting accurate timely information about hazards, risks and controls, verifying these used and effective. This presentation will explore the challenges and ask if this information can be used by organisations to benchmark psychological health and safety performance.
